Hi, I’m Amy. I’m an artist and a long-time supporter of creative adventures. In 2002 I graduated with a Fine Art degree, but it wasn’t until 15 years later that I started painting regularly and developing my own creative practice. Now I’m constantly thinking about painting, and make work in response to the things I see around me. I’m excited by colour, tangy neons and bold contrasts. I want my art to give people pleasure and a visceral experience.
I started exhibiting my paintings in 2017 and won accolades in the Cambridge Open Art Exhibition. In 2018 I staged my first solo show at the award-winning Storeys Field Centre. In 2019 I was shortlisted for the D Contemporary Painting Prize , London. More details about past and future exhibitions can be found here.
As well as being a practicing artist, I am a freelance project manager. For the last 18 years I have lived and worked in Cambridgeshire, devising and delivering a broad range of projects including public art schemes, festivals and events. I’ve worked with some fantastic people and organisations across genres including dance, visual arts, music and circus. My recent consultancy work has included contracts with Babylon Arts and Cambridge Sustainable Food.
I’m currently working on a project called Somewhere, in Ely which is all about community-commissioning of art. The project, funded by Arts Council England (National Lottery), offers an opportunity for artists to respond to ideas and interests expressed by the community.
