EXHIBITIONs AND AWARDS
I have exhibited my artwork in groups shows, open exhibitions and commercial galleries across the country. I’ve staged four successful solo exhibitions during the last 5 years. I was awarded 1st Prize in the Cambridge Open Art Exhibition in 2018, my work was shortlisted for the D Contemporary Painting Prize 2019, longlisted for the Holly Bush Painting Prize 2022 and I received a Special Commendation in the Institute of East Anglian Artists Open Exhibition 2022. In 2023 I won the Holly Bush Women’s Art Prize Bursary as part of the ArtCan East Anglia collective, and had 3 paintings selected for ING Discerning Eye Exhibition 2023.
artist in residence
In 2023 I was Artist-in-Residence at Sawston Village College where I worked with students over a 3-month period to create a new art installation for the College. The theme of the project was the school buildings, in particular those built in the 1950s - 1970s. The project was very much a collaboration with students. I designed and facilitated structured workshops to shape the final artwork which is due to be installed in a new school building on the College site in 2024.
BEDFORD GHOST SIGNS
I was commissioned by Bedford Creative Arts to work on a public art project celebrating Bedford’s airship history. This is an image of my painting or ghost sign for the town. The piece is 2.5m x 3.5m and can be found on the side of a building on Mill Street - MK40 3HD
SOMEWHERE IN ELY
As a freelance creative producer I devised and led a project in my home town of Ely called “Somewhere in Ely”. The project was about community commissioning of art, and involved creation of temporary works in the local community. Residents were involved in shaping the project as well as contributing to the final artworks.
I secured funding from Arts Council England Project Grants and brought together local partners to collaborate on the project.
The project was heavily affected by Covid and lockdowns, but we still managed to commission 3 new works which were enjoyed by people of Ely.
